the day was spent:
- waking up late
- starbucks
- walmart for a frisbee on the beach
- a 8 mile bike ride to main street
- lunch at the cafe/pub (i had this delicious drink “sandy paws”)
- changed when we got back
- went to the beach
- then to the grocery store to get sides for dinner
- for dinner: steak, steak fries, and green beans sautéd in butter and bacon
it’s a beautiful day! high 78º and sunny! what a great way to start vacation!
i hope to be on later tonight to try and catch up, but no guarantees! tomorrow holds kayaking, beach again, and who knows what else! {we’re looking into zip lining, but could be too expensive for this trip}
oh, and i forgot to tell you all that i got my first speeding ticket, yesterday, while driving down! horrified more so on how my parents would take it, but they were just happy we were okay. {Virginia, you and your cops are vicious. you and your state are $331 richer, you’re welcome.}

I am leaving in four [4] days for spring break, down to SC! I am beyond excited & ready for this trip. However it is a long drive — this is where you all come in.
I am in need of some great music/playlists for the trip! If you need suggestions on my style, just listen to a few songs on my playlist [push play on my blog]. Skip around to get a real variety of what I like.
I am accepting ANY and ALL recommendations! OR if you are feeling really ambitious, you could create a playlist for me & submit it to my email: bloom.meg.l@gmail.com.
many thanks,
meg

yes, i have a mason jar on my book shelf filled about 1/4 of the way with rolls of coins and loose change. i’m up to about $13 since november when i cashed in my last jar. i plan on cashing in this the week before vacation. we’ll see how much i use then
i prefer to use cash rather than a debit card because i feel like i am more in control of my money. whereas a debit card is harder to have control over, you don’t always register the transactions and think before using it! and with cash, that’s how i get my jar filled with the change, so it’s like it’s killing two birds with one stone! -meg

starting today, i will be starting the old fashioned way of saving money.
in a small, white envelope, stashed in my room.
it’s going to be labeled “Hilton Head Island Vacation Money”. i have about $300 more to save up. this includes money for gas, food, shopping, and activities (kayaking and/or other activities of the such).
i have about 2 months to save this money & hopeful to be disciplined enough to save it away!
