It’s been a sit in white nail polish, possibly ruin a good pair of shorts, shake my head and laugh at myself, work and play hard, read a good book, and late night grocery store run (for ice cream, of course) kind of day — thankful and tired.

I didn’t do so great academically the end of Freshmen year and beginning of Sophomore year. I ended up switching majors from Elementary to Early Childhood, and that set me back as well.

To play into the mix I had an advisor who basically didn’t advice, and I was signing up for classes that weren’t necessary for graduation requirements. She’s still labeled my advisor but I go straight to the dean of the college, now.

It’s a very frustrating process and has given me a bitter view on my college experience. I wish I had not gone to the University down the road from where I grew up, and that I’d taken the opportunity at a smaller college and out of state experience (Messiah College).

It has been a large hole to dig myself out of — and one that I hate talking about with people. But! I am almost done and if my schedules line up I will be done soon — I’m thankful for the learning experience (now) and it’s helped me advice others (and my younger brother who’s going off to school in August!)
