It’s been a day and a half. Received word from Mom (for her step-father), this afternoon, with results.
He came back positive with lung cancer.
it’s called Adenocarcinoma (that’s a mouth-full) and it’s the type of lung cancer found in 40% of patients.
it’s the most treatable with surgery to remove the tumor and surrounding portion of lung.
typically it’s found prior to any spread.
it could be that he would have the surgery and not require any other treatment.
doctor was very encouraged because he doesn’t have any symptoms of low breathing capacity and no sick symptoms. doctor said that typically patients come to him much sicker and have already lost 40 pounds.
We’re mainly relieved that we simply know what it is.
Now, we go from here.
