The Gospel Coalition || How to Win the Public on Homosexuality → thegospelcoalition.org

“For presidents and paupers, gays and straights, there is no other way to true happiness than the one Jesus traveled, the way that ended in the agony of the Cross and the ecstasy of the Resurrection.

To deny ourselves is to welcome the God who delights in giving every good and perfect gift (James 1:17), especially freedom from the vain pursuit of self-fulfillment.”

“We must go on and recognize the real Giver. It is madness not to. Because, if we do not, we shall be relying on human beings. And that is always going to let us down. The best of them will make mistakes; all of them will die. We must be thankful to all the people who have helped us, we must honor them and love them. But never, never pin your whole faith on any human being: not if he is the best and wisest in the whole world. There are lots of nice things you can do with sand: but do not try building a house on it.” —C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)

This isn't supposed to sound rude because you seem really nice and wonderful, but it seems that you lead somewhat of a sheltered life and could be offended easily, and that crosses a lot of experiences you could have on your list. As in traveling and meeting new people who might have a lot of different views that you on things, but those are the people you can learn the most from. Just don't shut people out if you don't agree with them on things that mean a lot to you.

I will whole-heartedly agree with you that I do live a sheltered life.

The list I created about what I want to do is to help me with that. I agree fully that I can learn from many people, experiences, etc. and I hope to do so soon. Even being on Tumblr has broadened some thought processes and how I was raised.

Thank you for this note, and I don’t take offense to it at all.

I can't brag about my love for God because I fail him daily. But I can brag about His love for me because it never fails.
