“Not only that, but you just spit in the bloody face of the Lamb of God as He hangs on the jagged wood taking your wrath and you say, ‘Don’t worry. He forgives.’”

Woah. Wow. Harsh truth. Wow.

“Don’t limit yourself to a method, expecting only to hear from your Father in predictable ways. Rather, open yourself up to other means by which God wants to commune with you. Allow the Holy Spirit to sensitize you to God’s message at all times, in every location, under any circumstance. Then you will experience God in entirely new dimensions as you are receptive to His voice.” —Experiencing God (via cowabungadudeee)

#ummm?

it’s the first time i’ve actually had the urge to go running, in about two weeks.

the other times i’ve just forced myself.

it’s a great feeling and i hope it starts to make a regular appearance, again.

Lorraines Scott Joplin - The Entertainer

lylaandblu:

The Entertainer - Scott Joplin. Cir: 1902.

…Walking into the Tumbloon Saloon to grab a shot of whiskey (or two) i would’ve never guessed what a thrill would follow me inside. Sitting at the old bar i looked to the waiter (thetieguy), dressed in a classy ‘fit with a ruffled bow, and ordered a shot (or two). i began to look around me, first to my left and then to my right, why, there were people all around, talkin’ and laughin’ and drinkin’. there was a  pretty lady next to me (aWellTraveledWoman) tellin’ me stories of all her lil’ ones and her great farm, so together we laughed and shared a couple o’ drinks. then there was a young fella (AnchorDivision) showin’ me his new shirt and tellin’ tales of the city and his great store three stories high and walled in brick, sharing a few more drinks i walked over to a rugged lookin’ gent who introduced himself as (lostinamerica). That boy had to have seen all the seven seas and every terrain in-between, he had a backpack strapped to ‘em with a big ol’ knife, jacket and cup, so we downed a couple shots and sang a few songs. Over in the corner, a cute lil thing was drawin’ and sketchin’ away, so i went to see her sketchin’ the whole damn scene! why there was spilled liquor all over the page with a few blurred figures, what a masterpiece, i handed the lass some coin and got it off her, her name was (lucyengelman) and she kissed me on the cheek, blushing i offered her a mug and clinked glasses and danced a bit. Talented people were everywhere, i was surrounded by a group of lovin’ and carin’ the kindest sorts o’ people you’ve ever seen! Then the doors busted open, the piano still rollin’, a group of shadowed fellas came on in to the Tumbloon with smiles on their faces, (thinknorth, williamvalle, pynter, hollowsleather, saltwatersound, areyoudaft, ysvoice, handcraftedinvirginia, twelvedecibelstatic) they introduced themselves and we all shook hands, someone shouted “fresh rounds!” and so we all cheered and grabbed our glasses, headin’ outside to enjoy the dusk, we started up a fire and sat around. Some playin’ music, a few dancin’, everyone one o’ us sharin’ a story. a handsome couple sat next to me tellin’ me of their endeavors and the places they’ve been, (theCoastalTheory) they had a neat lil’ store and showed me a ton of great photographs from one of those ol’ Kodak’s. We had a wonderful singer, givin’ her all to the tunes dancin’ around the smoke n’ flame, (agentlewoman), (squaremeal) was cookin’ the greatest things and im sure (lostinamerica) was thrilled as it seemed he had been livin’ off the wild life hunt… a beautiful young lady (thatkindofwoman) came over and handed me another shot, she had a journal on her, and what a marvelous writer that woman was. Ah! There was talent everywhere! a strapping young lad was takin’ our pictures and makin’ us laugh (Burtoo), five fine ladies dressed to the brim of their hats in style were doin’ a lil’ jig (meggielynne, rainydaysandblankets, callmehats, brittanickel, ktprettyideas) The piano was still rollin’ and somehow managed to roll outside, no one knew how, no one bothered to wonder. i clumsily danced around the fire almost fallin’ in a few times, meetin’ all sorts of people from all the corners of the world, there was 32flavors-, goffgough, abstractnumbers, gthegentleman, beanfield, no-aesthetic, remainsimple, pleatedskirt, sorakeem, thepicnicbasket, youngmanandoldsoul, thepursuitaesthetic, wetpaint, wholesomescraps, thethinkingtank, theArchivist, dulcisdomus, theblackworkshop, marleyandme, creta, lifeonsundays, hellobenn, candyheilman, firstsightdaily, voxt, serendipitousromance, lonehands, craftinghigherstandards, hersunnydisposition, youngfolksociety… and more!) Why, there had to be nearly five hundred of these marvelous people, talkin’ about architecture, workin’ on farms, sellin’ items, showin’ love, goin’ places, doin’ things, drinkin’ things they never tried before, dancin’, designin’, drawin’, kissin, lovin’, carin’, movin’, ridin’, carryin’ on, keepin’ on, pushin’ through, laughin’ shoutin’… what a sight! i leaned over on a handsome bearded gent, (jaredtomas) and pointed to all the people with a drink in my hand, i slurred to ‘em that i loved the Tumbloon Saloon he bellowed an agreement and we broke our glasses cheerin’ the piano came to its bridge and we all knew we’d be here tomorrow, sharin’ life with one another once again with a new story to tell, i happily grabbed a fresh shot, bid my adieus and headed home. eighty-some shots and countless mugs later i had the greatest night of my life… thank ya kindly to all of ya wonderful folk here at the Tumbloon Saloon! From us here at Lyla & Blu.

This has been one of the best experiences in life i’ve ever had… and to share it with all of you… i couldn’t say enough. So thank you.
